FnB Tech operates in a number of supply chains where social and environmental challenges exist. Poverty is often at the root of these issues. These supply chains include coffee,fruits,palm oil, rice,hazelnuts and fishery products.
We implement programmes as defined by our ten material areas, advocating and implementing international best practices. We also focus on Innovation and Technology, to help us get beyond incremental improvements and achieve our Purpose to re-imagine global agriculture and food systems.
We work with third-parties that assess and report our progress to achieve sustainable supply chains.We acknowledge there’s still much work to do, and we’re collaborating with farmers, communities, governments, industry, NGOs and other stakeholders, to find ways to deliver real and lasting progress.
What Does The Coffee Supply Chain Look Like ?
coffee is one of the most consumed drinks on the planet, and it’s also one of the most traded commodities. According to the National Coffee Association, more than 150 million people drink coffee on a daily basis in the U.S. alone. Globally, consumption is estimated at over 2.25 billion cups per day.
Generally, in the supply chain we have: growers, processors, intermediaries, exporters, suppliers, roasters, retailers and consumers. In some cases, not all of these parties are involved, with more direct relations taking place between growers and roasters for example.
Not all supply chains are the same. At FnB Tech, we try to keep things as simple as possible and, whenever possible, work directly with farmers and cooperative groups in Indonesia and beyond.
